TimeTag iPad Support
Below are some frequently asked questions as well as some general support items.
General Use
To Begin / Tagging Your Time
To begin, you tap on the clock icon in the top left of the screen. That will bring up the start/stop button, as well as some text that says "Tap to Set Tag" which is actually a button. That will bring up the tag screen so that you can tag your time.
In the tag screen, you can create a new tag (done by default if you don't have any yet) or you can tap an existing one if you've used the program before. This will set the tag for your active timer.
Note: The tag is saved to your timer when you hit stop. So feel free to change the tag at any time during the timer. This means that if you hit start again, even though you'll see the most recent tag you used, you can tap on it to change it. It's not saved until you hit stop.
Multiple Timers
To access multiple timers, bring up the timer window by tapping on the clock icon in the top left. Then, swipe your finger from your right to your left. It should slide over to reveal the a [+] button that lets you temporarily add a new timer. You can add up to 10 timers at once. If you want a default number of timers beyond 1, you can set that in the app settings (the gear icon in the top right).
Note: Only the paid version offers multiple timers.
Records / Details / Notes
Records are always displayed in the iPad application since that's the focus of any good time sheet application.
You can tap on a box (for example, if you just finished reading for an hour, you'll see "Reading 1:00:00.") Tapping on this will show you all the times you read for that day. You can also edit the time records from this screen, as well as adding a note for a time record.
To Filter / Total Hours
At any point, you can tap on the "Total Hours" button in the lower right which will quickly add up all the time entries on the screen. You can combine this feature with our filter to allow you to quickly add up hours for any combination of dates, tags, categories, etc.
Tapping on the filter will bring up a modal pop-up that has you enter some parameters. You can search by any combination of start/end date, tag or category. Note: Tag and category are mutually exclusive. If you search by tag, it will clear your category. If you search by category, it will clear your tag search.
Once you filter, the records screen in the background changes to your subset if any records came up. You can clear the filter by tapping "Clear Filter" in the top of the screen.
